Why we started.
Young people need more than one doorway to discover what they can become.
We are on a mission to turn today’s African youth into tomorrow’s leaders — through education, athletics, art, mentorship and leadership.

We keep it deliberately broad. Each door builds a different kind of confidence, and most young people need more than one.

Where the work is
It has centred on Cameroon.
Blossom Youth was founded by Yannick Formbor, who was born in Douala, Cameroon, came to the United States on a basketball opportunity, and graduated from Drexel University. Our work has centred on young people there: funding schooling for children in orphanages — including the supplies, from backpacks to pens — and running back-to-school basketball camps. We are not only after the children. Parents, teachers and coaches need the tools to lead them, and that is part of the job too.
